Privacy policy

SymboCalc is an iOS and macOS calculator developed by Nils Albertsen. It is built to
work entirely on your device.

Data collection

SymboCalc does not collect any data, not analytics, not crash reports, not usage
statistics, not identifiers of any kind. There is no account to create and nothing to
sign in to.

Network activity

SymboCalc makes no network requests of any kind. The app contains no networking code
and no server backend, so nothing you type, calculate, graph or save can leave your
device through the app.

What is stored on your device

Everything SymboCalc saves stays in the app's own storage on your device:

Worksheets, your calculation history, graphs, table settings, stored variables, user-defined functions and programs, held in the app's Application Support folder.
Preferences, angle mode, exact/approximate mode, number base, display digits and the screen you last used, held in standard system preferences.

This data is never transmitted. Deleting the app removes it.

Files you export

You can export a worksheet as a PDF or a .symbocalc file. These are written only where
you choose to save or share them, using the standard system file and share sheets.
SymboCalc does not upload them anywhere.

Permissions

SymboCalc requests no permissions. It does not use the camera, microphone, location,
contacts, photos, or the advertising identifier, and it does not track you across apps
or websites.

Third-party services

None. SymboCalc contains no third-party SDKs, analytics libraries or advertising
frameworks. The mathematics engine was written from scratch and has no external
dependencies.

Children

SymboCalc is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages. Because it collects no data at all, it
collects no data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with a new
effective date.
